Carer Training

Do you care for someone who has a disability, chronic illness or addiction?

FREE Family/Whanau Carer Training Session

Friday 30th November 10 am – 2 pm

Community House Alexandra

This is an opportunity to meet other carers, to learn new skills, to share stories and problems, and to develop your important and very demanding role of caring.

  • Sometimes carers lack practical and emotional support in their role.
  • Sometimes carers lack energy and feel daunted by the day ahead.
  • Often the carer is a son or daughter, partner, parent, other family member, friend, neighbour, or the carer is a child.

These carers have the right:

  • To opportunities to talk to someone about their own needs
  • To practical help to assist in the task of caring and explore alternatives
  • To information and advice about services

Come, be supported, and learn about:

  •  Self care for family carers
  •  Financial Supports for family carers
  •  Stress management for family carers

Lunch is provided
